Indian Council of Basic Education (ICBE) and Gandhi Shikshan Bhavan’s Smt. Surajba College of Education organized a memorial lecture for its founder member
late shri. Vajubhai Patel to remember him and his legacy as 8th vajubhai patel memorial lecture on 20th September 2021 , Monday at 12 noon IST , via zoom
meet. The memorial lecture was organized by I/C Principal Dr. Judy Grace Andrews and Ms. Vaishali Dhaware and Ms. Sabiha More who are associate
professors of GSB’s Smt. Surajba College of Education . Invitee of the lecture was Ms. Nupur Mitra , President of ICBE. Guest speaker of the lecture was Ms. Shirin, Peace Educator (Peacevigil.net).
Lecture was started with introducing the aim of the session by Prof. Sabiha More. As a tradition of our college , an event starts with the lighting of lamp. This
tradition was performed by our guest speaker Ms. Shirin. The lighting of lamp was followed by the SarvaDharma Prayer justifying the theme of the lecture as we want to gain peace, we can achieve it by accepting all. A beautiful song was sung by Shifa Naik .
I/C principal gave brief welcome address to the speaker, and teaching staff, non-teaching staff, students for attending the lecture. Ms. Nupur Mitra on the
behalf of management of ICBE welcomed all and introduced us with the memory lane of Shri. Vajubhai Patel.
Our guest speaker Ms. Shirin started an interactive lecture about peace and told that how peace is not just living with harmony but it has broader aspect . She truly mesmerized our audiences by her way of speaking and ‘Acceptance of diversity is the precondition for peace ‘ was completely well elaborated in her lecture as she talked about the true sense of being diverse .
Further Prof. Vaishali Dhaware gave vote of thanks to our speaker and whole hearted participation of the audience was appreciated and the webinar concluded
with the national anthem.
