Report on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) CELL Inauguration | 21 Jun 2021

Intellectual Property Right Cell is inaugurated in our college, Gandhi Shikshan Bhavan college for the 1st time. It was conducted on 21st of June 2021 through a Zoom Meeting organized by the college authorities to enlighten on the importance of Intellectual propertylaws applicable in India and how can original creator use them for their benefit.

The event was started with a melodious prayer sang by our college student Bhagyashri. Further a welcome speech was given by our respectable principal Judy Andrew’s ( ma’am)and detailed knowledge and achievements of the guests was given by our respectable programme coordinator Sabiha More ma’am. The programme coordinators are Professor. Sabiha More Mam and Professor. Priti Chandorkar Mam.

Intellectual property rights are legal rights that provide creators protection for original works,inventions, or the appearance of products, artistic works, scientific developments, and so on. There are four types of intellectual property rights (IP): patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets.

The further knowledge with regard to intellectual laws was given by guest for our session Mr.Chetan Mathur who is a well known graduate in English literature, and a preview committee member of IFFI , Jury in national film awards and had documented many movies and films.

The guests of the session gave us a great knowledge about copyrights of films, and conceptsof unauthorized use of copyrights and how can companies get protection from these infringement activities. Specific government laws are made to prevent the originator of works (artistic,creative and dramatic work)
The session gave us great insights which all of us were unaware and helped us to know about certain legislations framed by our authorities to protect the welfare of business and citizens.
