On the 26th of January 2023 Gandhi Shikshan Bhavan’s Smt. Surajba College of Education had organised a Republic Day celebration for the students of primary, secondary, higher secondary and FY and SY B. Ed students.
The program commenced at sharp 9:00 am by welcoming the special guests for the day, Principal Sunayana Kadle and the Teacher’s. Without any further delay, one of the teachers welcomed everyone for the great Republic Day celebration. Firstly, the teacher addressed the Republic Day’s importance and how it has a special significance in the history of India. Republic Day is the day when India marks and celebrates the date on which the Constitution of India came into existence that is on 26 January 1950. This replaced the Government of India Act 1935 as the governing document of India, thus turning the nation into a republic separate from the British Raj. Further, the tri-colour National Flag of India was hoisted. The yellow house captain commanded everyone to stand at ease, pay attention and rise and direct attention to the flag to honour India with (singing) the National Anthem “Jana Gana Mana” and later by the song “Jhanda Ooncha Rahe Hamara”.
Furthermore, one of the students of the secondary section delivered a speech on Republic Day by highlighting the key points of the day. There were patriotic songs sung by the students of primary, secondary and B. Ed students with that great pride that one has towards their country Mother India. Afterall it is a day of national rejoicing and a red-letter day in the country, celebrated with pomp and show, zeal and spirit, throughout the length and breadth of the country. Also, one of the most famous personalities, the great singer added beauty to the Republic Day event by singing melodious song.
Lastly, the Indians celebrate Republic Day with lots of enthusiasm and let us not forget the long journey to freedom, the struggles of our forefathers to make the country a sovereign state.
